Choose From the Most Popular Commercial Roofs
It’s important to choose the right material for your re-roof. Sunwest Roofing is an experienced installer of the best commercial and industrial roofing materials. Our experts can educate you on the benefits of each type of system.
TPO/PVC Single-Ply Membrane
The most installed thermoplastic single-ply membranes are PVC and TPO. Short for polyvinyl chloride, PVC is a sturdy, single-ply roofing membrane proven to resist tears and breaks. TPO, or thermoplastic polyolefin, is a newer single-ply roofing membrane that is more economical than PVC. Both PVC and TPO are lightweight, naturally reflective, aesthetically pleasing and highly resistant to wear.
EPDM Single-Ply Membrane
EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) membrane is a rubber-based product that performs well in fluctuating temperatures. An EPDM system can last 30 years or more. Application techniques include fully adhered, mechanically fastened and ballasted, allowing EPDM to be applied to nearly any roof surface.
Built-Up Roofing (BUR)
Built-up roofing (BUR) is a time-tested, economical choice for flat commercial roof replacement. It is composed of multiple layers of fiberglass membrane coated with hot asphalt, with a layer of coarse gravel added on top to protect the surface from weathering and mechanical damage.
Modified Bitumen (Mod-Bit) Roofing
Modified bitumen combines hot asphalt (bitumen) with rubber or plastic additives which are layered between sheets of polyester or fiberglass. It tends to be much thicker than single-ply membranes. Mod-bit roofing exhibits some of the same characteristics of BUR yet offers the easy application of a single-ply system. It is resistant to punctures, tears and heavy traffic.
A metal roof holds up to the daily wear and tear experienced by a commercial building better than any other material. It offers a distinctive look that can set a commercial property apart, and its reflective abilities will help to keep the interior cooler and reduce cooling costs.
